JUST TWO MINUTES SAVED!

There is no doubt about it, we definitely live in an age of hurry, hustle and haste. Many years ago, two gentlemen , one an American and one a Japanese , were traveling in a streetcar in a Western city. When they reached a certain transfer point they immediately got
off and boarded another very crowded tram. As they rode along, the Japanese asked his American friend,

“Why did we get off and board another very crowded streetcar?”

“Oh,” explained the American businessman, “by changing at that transfer point we saved at least two minutes on the trip.”

“Well,” replied the Japanese man, “what shall we do with the two minutes we just saved?”

Good question. What do we do with all the minutes that we are supposed to save with our modern conveniences and timesaving gimmicks? We just cram in more. The best advice for most of us could be summed up this way. Once a day for a week, drive into the center of ( Put your town’s cemetery name here) cemetery.
Look around. Take your time. Notice the tombstones.

Then say aloud, “Most of these folks believed that this world just could not get along without them! Stop! Slow down! Ease Up! You don’t have to save the whole world by yourself.”

Appeal text: “Martha, Martha, you are fretting and fussing about so many things; but one thing is necessary. The part that Mary has chosen is best.” [Luke 10: 41-42. NEB]
