Seventh-day Adventist Church
2003 NAD Offering Call
“Becoming Faithful Stewards”

Dear Pastor,

I trust that this year’s offering appeals will be a blessing to you, your elders, your stewardship secretary and the lay people appointed to give the offering call each week.

The theme I have chosen for this year is “BECOMING FAITHFUL STEWARDS.” God holds us responsible, when it comes to money and possessions, to one principle-and that is to be faithful. However, this faithfulness will be reflected in our attitudes of kindness and generosity, and our lifestyle habits. We are charged with being faithful stewards of our time, and talents, as well as our treasures.

My secondary purpose in preparing these fifty-two offering appeals was to make them both informative and interesting. Hence, you will find that the majority of the offering appeals begin with either a story or an interesting illustration and conclude with a stewardship principle. You will recall that was how our Lord caught the people’s attention during His time here on earth, by telling a parable or a story to illustrate a principle. Also, on the days the NAD/GC has designated as special offerings, I have included an offering appeal from that ministry. Because of the brevity of these offering calls, I encourage you to enlarge on the stewardship principles as time permits in your worship service.

I have appreciated the opportunity of putting together these offering calls,
and it is my prayer that they will help each member of your church become
a “Faithful Steward.” (1 Corinthians 4:2)

Kind Christian Regards,

Gordon Botting, DrPH, CFC.
